Pre-Licensing Requirements

Before you can actually sell a home, you need to complete a state-mandated pre-licensing course and then complete a state exam.

To obtain a real estate broker license for the state of Illinois, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Successfully complete the pre-license 45-hour basic transactions course
  • Successfully complete 75 class hours of broker courses at a real estate school approved by the IL Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation
  • Pass the state of Illinois exam.

Stay tuned as these requirements may change due to State Regulations.
